![]() There are a number of lane options that could be implemented to balance needs and traffic demand along Lincolnway with the needs of a thriving downtown. The design team has come up with three different lane configuration options for the Lincolnway corridor. The different options will impact drive time, sidewalk widths, parking, and the streetscape at varying levels. We would like to know which lane option you'd prefer. Please review all three options before casting your vote. Summary of the three options: The 5 Lane option expands average sidewalk widths along Lincolnway by a marginal amount (<1'). Additional pedestrian spaces are only gained at intersection bulb-outs. This option also provides an additional 40 parking spaces along Lincolnway to serve downtown business and parking. The 3 Lane option expands average sidewalk widths along Lincolnway by 5', thus creating more area for amenities such as benches, planters and cafe seating along bulb-outs at intersections. The drive time for this option would be increased by an estimated 2 minutes from Pioneer Ave. to Warren Ave. This option also provides an additional 61 parking spaces along Lincolnway to serve downtown businesses and event parking. The hybrid plan depicts a 3 lane roadway configuration from Bent Ave. and a 5 lane configuration from Carey Ave. extending to the east. This concept allows for a 5 lane condition in the signalized zone to enhance traffic flow. About The ChallengeThe Winner |
